Teenage girl missing after watching soccer at nearby field

According to the information received, the teenage girl was last seen on Sunday, 05 March 2023, at about 13:00.

A teenage girl from the North West province has gone missing after she left home to watch soccer at a nearby field.

TEENAGE GIRL DOES NOT RETURN HOME FROM THE FIELD

“The police in Cyferskuil request the community’s assistance in locating missing Karabo Monyama (15), who is residing at Monageng Street, Cyferskuil, close to Makapanstad,” police confirmed.

According to the information received, she was last seen on Sunday, 05 March 2023, at about 13:00 when she left home to watch soccer at a nearby field. However, she never returned back home.

“A search was conducted around the neighbourhood and Cyferskuil precinct without any success.”

WHAT THE MISSING YOUNGSTER WAS WEARING

It is reported that during her disappearance, she was wearing a white crop top, green mini skirt and black Adidas sneakers.

“She (teenage girl) is light in complexion with a slim body structure and black hair. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts can contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Edward Moeng of Cyferskuil Detectives on cell: 082 569 4455. Anonymous tip-offs can be communicated via the MySAPS App or phone Crime Stop on ‪08600 10111,” police requested.

Meanwhile, the SAPS has also requested the assistance in locating 12-year-old Botshelo Prescious Mothibi.

On Thursday, 02 March 2023 at 06:30, Botshelo reportedly left her home in Lerato Park, Roodepan for school at Mankuruwane Primary School in Galeshewe and went missing.
She was wearing school uniform and does not have a cellphone.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Warrant Officer Lesego Oliphant from Galeshewe Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses unit on 084 812 1071.

HOW TO REPORT SOMEONE MISSING

According to the South African Government, if someone close to you is missing, you should report it to the police as soon as you know they are missing. You do not need to wait for 24 hours. 

You can contact the Bureau for Missing Persons to report a missing person or go to your nearest police station and report that the person is missing as soon as possible.

Take with you a recent photograph of the missing person so that it can be scanned into the National Bureau for Missing Persons database. This database is a Crime Stop project and police all over the country use it. Give any information that might help to identify the person, such as their age, height, hair colour, eye colour, and any identifying marks such as scars or tattoos. You may be asked to fill in forms giving all this information.
