Neighbour critically injured after trying to help against four suspects

A man was critically injured after he attempted to help his neighbour who was being assaulted by four suspects at home in Stanger, KwaDukuza in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
NEIGHBOUR SHOT INJURED IN SHOOTOUT WITH SUSPECTS
On Saturday, 19 November, IPSS Medical Rescue said it received reports of a shootout in the Stanger area.
When advanced life support paramedics arrived at the scene, they learned that four suspects had allegedly entered a house and assaulted the homeowner.
“Upon hearing the commotion a neighbour came to the aid of the homeowner. Multiple shots were fired resulting in the neighbour sustaining critical injuries,” said an IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson.
One of the four suspects was arrested at the scene without incident while two others were shot multiple times and taken to a hospital under police guard. The fourth suspect succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The neighbour was rushed to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle in critical condition, said the paramedics. He will be transferred to a specialised trauma unit.
