Load shedding has become a way of life – sadly – for every South African with a record number of Eskom power cuts in 2022 while every day in 2023 has been affected to date.

Couple that with the electricity price hike coming on 1 April 2023 (no April Fool’s joke) and South Africans will soon be paying even more to have no light …

WARNING | INTEREST RATE HIKE ON ITS WAY THIS WEEK

As reported by The South African website, experts predict yet another interest rate hike later this week.

Those in the know suggest a 50 basis point jump, heaping more pressure on those in living in debt.

Lastly, as reported by The South African website, the fuel (petrol and diesel) forecast for February is getting uglier and uglier by the day.

A rand struggling to strengthen and an increase in oil prices makes for a bad combination when it comes to the price of fuel.

With two full weeks still to go, it’s clear Mzansi motorists will be forking out more of their hard-earned cash at the pumps from midnight on 7 February – the only question still to be answered is ‘how much more’.

Those are just THREE instances of hardship currently – or soon to be – facing every South Africa in some way, shape or form.
