Durban “ISIS trial” resumes

The state is expected to outline reasons why Farhad Hoomer – a Durban businessman accused of having ties to terror group ISIS – should not be released on bail. Eleven other suspects will also learn their fate in the Verulam Magistrate’s court on Tuesday. [Read more: TimesLive]

Vlakfontein accused in court

The judge sought to confirm the charges made by the state against the two suspects, to which the state revealed that accused number one – Sibusiso Khoza – was facing seven murder charges together with an additional three counts of rape. “Mr Fika” was to face seven charges of rape and an additional charge of theft.

Her appeal has been pushed back to 20 February 2019, meaning she will be home for Christmas. She served four months in jail before being released on bail pending her bid to overturn the conviction and sentence. Momberg was given two years for calling a police officer the k-word 48 times.
