Malusi Gigaba to unveil visa changes

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba is set to outline the changes to visas that Cyril Ramaphosa featured in Friday’s stimulus package. The president explained that visa regulations will be relaxed for South Africa, and it’s down to Gigaba to tell us what happens next.

Western Cape Total Shutdown

Protests are taking place across the Cape Flats and other working-class areas of the province, as demonstrators demand change for those living in poverty. Heavy disruptions for commuter traffic is highly likely, and we’ve already got a few incidents to report. [Read more here].

Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the UN’s General Assembly on Monday, where he assured groups on investors that land reform would be handled “the same way apartheid was handled“. The president is continuing his global investment drive, in the hopes of raising $100 billion for South Africa.

Petrol costs set to soar as oil price rises

America’s prickly foreign policy is having a knock-on effect with the rest of the world. Ready to tear-up a long-standing nuclear deal with Iran, it’s feared exports will be limited to the US.
