A recently-released survey from the Institute of Race Relations states that the EFF will make serious gains in 2019, expanding their share of the vote from 6% to 13%. The DA are also expected to make marginal gains, but it’s bad news for the ANC – they could lose up to 10% of their support.

After dipping below R14.20 in the week, the ZAR starts Monday at R14.36 to the dollar. A stable interest rate and cautiously-optimistic stimulus package has helped give the currency a firmer footing against the greenback.
