MATRIC RESULTS: GLENWOOD IN GEORGE HITS 100% PASS RATE

Here is the thing, scoring a 100% result is nothing to smirk at when you realise what the COVID-19 pandemic did to society and the school system.

The Glenwood House School headmaster, Grant Williams could not agree more.

“They have not only overcome each and every obstacle put in their way, but have done so most admirably,” Williams said.

“The 2021 matric class has followed in the footsteps of every previous matric class at Glenwood by achieving a 100% pass rate.

“The Glenwood House family prays for God’s blessing on our class of 2021 as they begin the next stage of their journey,” he added.

HOW THE LEARNERS SCORED BY QUALIFICATION

So the matric results scored 100% pass rate for the George Schoo, but it is also worth noting how many of the learners achieved Bachelor’s and how many passed with Diploma qualifications:

As confirmed by the report, 96% qualified to study for Bachelor’s degrees, while 4% will have opportunities to register for Diplomas of their choice.

The George Herald included a special mention of the school’s most outstanding learners and what journeys they plan to pursue in 2022.

“Four of their matriculants achieved seven or more distinctions:

  • Eila Schoeman, who plans to study medicine at the University of Cape Town (UCT);
  • Esther Squires, who plans to take a gap year and do volunteer work at a community project;
  • Erica Vegter, who will head to the University of Stellenbosch to study BCom Law; and
