Imagine meeting a 2.1-meter black mamba snake inside your house? A catcher in KwaZulu Natal was called to a house in Verulam to take away the giant reptile on Monday.

SNAKE INSIDE KWAZULU NATAL HOME

According to the report from Reaction Unit South Africa, (RUSA), the private security team was called to urgently provide assistance in Coniston, Verulam.

It said that the black mamba is estimated to measure around 2.1 meters. A local catcher arrived to capture it.

“A Black Mamba measuring approximately 2.1 meters was captured on a property in Coniston, KZN this morning (Monday),” RUSA reported.

“The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received a call for assistance at approximately 09:01 after the snake was discovered in a cupboard. Reaction Officers identified the snake as a Black Mamba.”

HERO: ANTON DAVIDSON

The absolute hero that took the snake away is Anton Davidson. “Professional snake catcher Anton Davidson was called out to the property and on arrival captured the highly venomous reptile.

“The snake was removed from the property and will be relocated to a more suitable environment,” RUSA concluded.

DURBAN BEE ATTACK

In other regional news, six people were attacked by a swarm of bees after disturbing a hive while mowing a lawn in Ballito, KZN on Thursday.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said six people were stung by a swarm of bees on Thursday.

IPSS Advanced Life Support paramedics, along with Lenmed, arrived at the scene at determined that the workers were mowing a lawn when they disturbed a beehive.

“A total of six people were stung with two of them being critical and requiring advanced life support intervention,” said Herbst.

The emergency responders stabilised the patients at the scene before they were transported to the hospital for further care.
