Horror: Body of sex worker found dead in bush Verulam

Verulam police are starting the year with a rather disturbing case. This is after a semi-naked body of a sex worker was uncovered in a bush on Monday 3 January.

SEX WORKER FOUND DEAD TEMPLE VALLEY BUSH

According to the report, the woman who is believed to be a sex worker was found dead near the railway track in Verulam’s Temple Valley.

A pedestrian informed a private security official to have a look at the dead sex worker in the Verulam bush.

“The semi-naked body of a female believed to be a sex worker was discovered along a railway line on Garland Street in Temple Valley, KZN this morning (Monday),” Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reported on Facebook.

“A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the Verulam CBD, KZN at approximately 08:34 when he was flagged down by a pedestrian who informed him of the discovery.”

STAB WOUNDS TO THE NECK

The dead sex worker had stabbed wounds to her neck while her discarded pants had traces of blood in the Verulam bush.

“Reaction Officers proceeded to the location provided and discovered the body of a female in the overgrown grass. She was naked from below the waist,” RUSA added.

“Upon examination, the deceased was found to have sustained a stab wound to her neck. Her blood-soaked pants were located next to her body.”

The report added that a passerby claimed the deceased is known to be a sex worker in the area. Used condoms were found not far from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, the reason for the murder remains a mystery while the local South African Police Service (SAPS) will launch an investigation.
