The police in the Free State are investigating a murder case after a missing 10-year-old girl was found dead in an open field on Thursday morning, 2 December. The deceased was identified as Maserame Violet Morikgihlane from Bronville.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said the Broville police station was alerted to the discovery of the body at approximately 8:30 on Thursday.
Maserame’s dead body was found by the police in an open field in Winne Park. According to the police report, she lived in Extension 15, Bronville.
“There were no visible injuries but had bruises on her arms, legs and neck,” said Makhele.
Maserame was reported missing at the Bronville police station on Wednesday, 1 December, said the spokesperson.
A murder case has been opened for further investigation.
