Stage 6 load shedding to be implemented at night until further notice
Eskom announced that Stage 6 load shedding would be implemented from 21:00 on Tuesday night, 10 January. The same level of power cuts is to be implemented daily until further notice from the afternoon, according to the power supplier.
The Stage 6 load shedding on Tuesday night will start at 21:00 and end at 5:00 on Wednesday morning.
“Stage 6 nightly load shedding will then be implemented at 16:00 -05:00 until further notice,” said Eskom.
Horror: SANDF member seen in video of burnt bodies in Mozambique
A horrific video of soldiers burning unknown bodies on a pile of rubble in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique sent shockwaves through the country after it hit social media platforms.
The SANDF and other unknown defence force members are seen to be engaged in activities against the law or armed conflict.
In the video, you can see how some members even swing a body as they try to throw it on top of the rubble and other bodies which were already on fire.
Young boy killed in illegal drag race, community sets vehicles alight
An eight-year-old boy was killed while multiple others were injured in an illegal drag racing incident in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni in Gauteng.
The incident happened on Sunday night, 8 January 2022, at the corner of Simunye Street and Madikizela Drive in Etwatwa.
City of Ekurhuleni exploring legal action against Boksburg tanker driver
The City of Ekurhuleni Municipality is exploring legal action against the driver and company of the gas tanker that exploded in Boksburg on 24 December 2022.
The LP Gas tanker got stuck under a bridge and started leaking, resulting in a massive explosion that caused extensive damage to private and public infrastructure within an estimated 500 metres from the scene. The blast claimed the lives of at least 38 people, including OR Tambo Memorial Hospital staff.
Traffic officer killed by truck on N4 identified
The traffic officer for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security, and Liaison (DCSSL), who died on Monday, 9 January, has been identified.
He was performing his duties when he was hit by a truck.
Gijimane July Nkabinde, 57, who was on duty at the Middelburg weighbridge at the time of the accident, was identified as the traffic officer who tragically died.
