The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) gazetted the design, dimension and compilation of the fourth decimal coin series of South Africa on Friday, 25 November. The new-look coins will be recognised as legal tender from 1 January 2023.

In other news, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Extreme Discomfort Advisory for the Western Cape on Monday, 28 November. This follows a similar advisory for extreme heat in the province. The extreme discomfort advisory is valid from 10:00 until 18:00 on Tuesday, 29 November.

Meanwhile, Belinda Magor, the woman behind the WhatsApp voice note that calls for blacks to be killed instead of Pitbulls is set to appear in court in March 2023.

Cryptocurrency co-founder Tiantian Kullander has died at the age of 30, Amber Group reported.

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) gazetted the design, dimension and compilation of the fourth decimal coin series of South Africa on Friday, 25 November. The new-look coins will be recognised as legal tender from 1 January 2023.

The South African reported that the government would introduce a new coin series in 2023 in August after the announcement was made during a virtual cabinet meeting.

Friday’s gazette revealed the design of the new money for the first time. The introduction of some new animals is the most noticeable change.

Weather: Rare ‘extreme discomfort advisory’ for the Western Cape

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Extreme Discomfort Advisory for the Western Cape on Monday, 28 November. This follows a similar advisory for extreme heat in the province.

The extreme discomfort advisory is valid from 10:00 until 18:00 on Tuesday, 29 November. The south coast and eastern parts of the Western Cape will mostly be affected between Riviersonderend and Knysna.

“Very hot conditions will result in uncomfortable conditions over the central interior and in places along the south coast of the Western Cape,” said the weather service.

Belinda Magor: Woman behind ‘Pitbull rant’ to appear in court in 2023

Belinda Magor, the woman behind the WhatsApp voice note that calls for blacks to be killed instead of Pitbulls is set to appear in court in March 2023.

Magor’s arrest was confirmed by Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi on Saturday night, 26 November 2022. She was reportedly locked up at Daveyton Police Station in Gauteng.

Magor topped social media trend lists for her voice note in which she called for black people to be killed and banned instead of Pitbulls. Her rant comes as a number of South Africans are calling for the vicious dogs to be banned following a spate of mauling incidents that have claimed innocent lives of children.

Cryptocurrency co-founder dies at the age of 30

Cryptocurrency co-founder Tiantian Kullander has died at the age of 30, Amber Group reported.

In a statement on the website, the company announced the passing of Kullander.

“It is with the deepest sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our friend and co-founder, Tiantian Kullander, who passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on November 23, 2022.”Amber Group

Family of Rape accused Hoërskool Kriel learner blames school

The family of the late Bafana Sithole, a Hoërskool Kriel rape-accused learner, holds the Mpumalanga institution accountable for the death of their son.

The 17-year-old Grade 11 promising learner was accused of rape by a 15-year-old fellow learner. Bafana allegedly underwent humiliation and was demoted by the school which apparently never heard his side of the story – and never will after taking his own life.
