A group of angry protestors blocked City of Tshwane Executive Mayor Cilliers Brink from entering Jubilee District Hospital in Hammanskraal, where 15 people have died due to the Cholera outbreak in the area.

Two children have died as the death toll increases.

Meanwhile, the mysterious philanthropist BI Phakathi has warned his followers not to fall victim to bogus accounts asking for money on social media.

In other news, there was no winner of Monday, 22 May’s Daily Lotto jackpot, with the R400 000.00 on offer rolling over.

Lastly, Dr Nandipha Magudumana filed an urgent application to declare her arrest in Arusha unlawful. She also wants to be released from custody.

WATCH: Angry residents chase away Tshwane Mayor in Hammanskraal

A group of angry protestors blocked City of Tshwane Executive Mayor Cilliers Brink from entering Jubilee District Hospital in Hammanskraal where 15 people have died to due the Cholera outbreak in the area.

The Gauteng Department of Health confirmed on Sunday, 21 May that the diarrhoeal disease in the area is indeed Choleras after taking samples from patients admitted at Jubilee who had similar symptoms.

A group of residents were protesting outside Jubilee Hospital on Monday, 22 May. The group prevented Brink from entering the hospital as the death toll increases.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that the death toll due to the Cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal has increased to 12.

According to the department, lab results of stool specimens of 19 people who presented at Jubilee District Hospital with symptoms of diarrhoea, stomach cramps and nausea confirmed that it is Cholera.

As previously reported, the department said since Monday, 15 May 2023 to date, 95 people from Kanana, Suurman, Majaneng, Green Field, Carousel View, Lephengville and Sekampaneng have been seen at Jubilee District Hospital with similar symptoms.

WATCH LIVE: Home Affairs briefing on Dr Nandipha and Thabo Bester

Department of Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi is expected to hold a media briefing regarding celebrity doctor Dr Nandipha Mgudumana’s urgent application to declare her arrest unlawful and her lover Thabo Bester’s ID and passport.

The briefing will take place at 10:00 on Monday, 22 May, in Pretoria, Gauteng.

The Department of Home Affairs said Motsoaledi would provide an update on the issuing of an ID to convicted criminal and rapist Thabo Bester, a South African passport that is going to be revoked, the urgent court application by Magudumana against the State and other matters.
