An eight-year-old girl, who was kidnapped outside her school in Rylands, Cape Town, was found alive on Monday evening, 14 November. She was abducted 10 days ago.

In other news, the man accused of being the killer of 4-year-old Bokgabo Poo is to spend Christmas and New Year in jail as his matter is postponed to February next year.

Meanwhile, the KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Mbali Frazer has expressed shock and disappointment after educators and learners at Georgetown High School in Pietermaritzburg were allegedly attacked and robbed. 

No surprise here, load shedding stages are to change yet again, this time increasing to Stage 3 from Monday afternoon.

Lastly, the Bloemfontein SPCA has pleaded with the public to surrender any dog that might be a danger to the community or the family of its owners after an eight-year-old was mauled to death by a neighbour’s Pitbull on Saturday 12 November in Vista Park, Bloemfontein.

Kidnapped Abirah Dekhta, 8, found in Khayelitsha shack

An eight-year-old girl, who was kidnapped outside her school in Rylands, Cape Town, was found alive on Monday evening, 14 November. She was abducted 10 days ago.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said police members from specialised units and the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement used state-of-the-art technology to track Abirah Dekhta to a shack in Town Two, Khayelitsha on Monday.

“The intelligence-led integrated operation saw forces descending on the township where the young girl was found. She has since been sent to a doctor for a medical assessment,” said Twigg.

Alleged killer of 4-year-old Bakgabo Poo to stay in jail until Feb

The man accused of being the killer of 4-year-old Bokgabo Poo is to spend Christmas and New Year in jail as his matter is postponed to February next year.

Ntokozo Zikhali appeared before the Benoni Magistrates Court on Monday. The 30-year-old man faces charges of rape, murder, defeating the ends of justice and violating a body. This after he was tied to the mutilation, killing and rape of the young girl.

Load shedding stages to increase again. Find out the latest forecast

Load shedding stages are to change yet again, this time increasing to Stage 3 from Monday afternoon. Eskom announced just before 14:00 that load shedding will increase to Stage 3 from 16:00 on Tuesday.

This will continue until 05:00 on Tuesday morning, Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says.

“This will be repeated again on Tuesday afternoon. That is, from 16:00 to 05:00 [on Wednesday morning] it will be at Stage 3.”

Educators and learners attacked, robbed during a study session

KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Mbali Frazer has expressed shock and disappointment after educators and learners at Georgetown High School in Pietermaritzburg were allegedly attacked and robbed. 

The learners and educators were allegedly robbed during an overnight study session on Saturday night, 12 November. 

On Monday, 14 November Frazer visited Georgetown High School to comfort the educators and learners who were violently attacked by three unknown gunmen.

Pitbulls: Public urged to surrender aggressive and dangerous dogs

Bloemfontein SPCA has pleaded with the public to surrender any dog that might be a danger to the community or the family of its owners after an eight-year-old was mauled to death by a neighbour’s Pitbull on Saturday 12 November in Vista Park, Bloemfontein. 

According to Bloemfontein SPCA, the boy was mauled to death in front of the garage in his Bloemfontein residence.
