Power utility Eskom has confirmed its latest load shedding update, detailing the schedule through to Wednesday, 2 November.

A huge oil tanker was seen racing up the N3 on Sunday, breaking the speed limit in the process. The driver has since been arrested.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said the Phala Phala farm scandal calls for President Cyril Ramaphosa to step aside in line with the party’s resolution. 

Severe thunderstorms and cold weather were expected in several parts of South Africa on Monday. 

Two off-leash huskies killed 19 endangered African penguins at Seaforth Beach. They were removed from home by the SPCA on Monday.

Power utility Eskom has confirmed its latest load shedding update, detailing the schedule through to Wednesday, 2 November.

Stage 2 load shedding is currently in effect and will continue until 05:00 on Tuesday.

There will be no load shedding between 05:00 and 16:00 on Tuesday.

WATCH: Oil tanker on N3 caught SPEEDING – at 123km/h!

We know many of us will be in a rush to get to the fuel pumps before Wednesday’s big price increase. But the driver of this oil tanker on the N3 near Durban is wholly taking the piss. The marauding motorist was filmed doing 123km/h in the fast lane of the highway.

By all means, we’ve already had an oil-related scare this week. The petrol price is going up by more than 50 cents-per-litre on Wednesday, and diesel is set to soar by R1.44p/l. The sight of a speeding tanker barrelling down the N3, therefore, isn’t the scariest thing we see on Halloween…

Sisulu calls for Ramaphosa to step aside over Phala Phala scandal

Tourism Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu says the Phala Phala farm scandal calls for President Cyril Ramaphosa to step aside in line with the party’s resolution. 

Sisulu who has ambitions to become the next ANC President revealed this during an exclusive interview with the SABC over the weekend.

Huskies removed from home for killing 19 endangered penguins

Approximately 19 African penguins were killed by two off-leash dogs at Seaforth Beach in Simon’s Town over the weekend. An eyewitness came across the attack and tried to put a stop to it.

The Cape of Good Hope SPCA was alerted to the incident early on Friday, 28 October. The animal welfare organisation is in possession of an affidavit from an eyewitness who said two “husky-type” dogs attacked the penguins.

The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) later confirmed that the penguins’ death appeared to be caused by dog bites.

The weather services have warned that severe thunderstorms and cold weather are expected in several parts of South Africa TODAY. 

VoxWeather said level 2 weather warnings for severe thunderstorms are issued for severe thunderstorms over the central parts of Limpopo and the northern parts of Mpumalanga.
