‘World-famous’ professor, partner MURDERED in Eastern Cape
The primatology community has been left in abject shock this week, after one of its most well-renowned experts was killed in cold blood. Professor Judith Masters – and her researcher partner Fabien Genin – were found murdered inside their Eastern Cape home on Monday.
SAPS have now initiated a manhunt to find the suspect. This gruesome incident took place in Hogsback, a rural outpost with little over 1 000 citizens. The pair were allegedly targeted in a housebreaking incident, but no arrests have been made yet.
JUST IN: Three in police custody for murder of German tourist
Three people of interest are currently in custody regarding the brutal murder of a 67-year-old German tourist in Mpumalanga on Monday, 3 October.
This was revealed by Police Ministry spokesperson, Lirandzu Themba as Police Minister Bheki Cele and National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola visited Mpumalanga on Wednesday, 5 October.
Upon his arrival in Mpumalanga, Cele reportedly received a full briefing on the murder investigation of the 67-year-old tourist. Together with the National Police Commissioner, they were also briefed about other crimes that are affecting tourists in the area.
Camps Bay shooting: Two killed in ‘targeted’ attack in Cape Town
Two unknown men were shot and killed in Camps Bay, Cape Town on Wednesday afternoon, 5 October. The shooting incident occurred along the bustling promenade in the upmarket beach area.
Ward 54 Councillor, Nicola Jowell, said two people were shot and killed in Camps Bay on Wednesday.
“The suspects appear to have been there to target the people who are now deceased. May they rest in peace. They then made off speeding in a vehicle out of the area,” said Jowell.
‘I’m going to defeat you again white boys’: Malema to AfriForum

In August, AfriForum lost its bid to have struggle song Kill the Boer declared as hate speech. When giving the ruling the judge said that AfriForum failed to show that the lyrics of the song contravene the Equality Act or demonstrate a clear intention to harm or incitement.
HEAT-INDUCED thunderstorms expected from TODAY in parts of SA
Weather services said heat-induced thunderstorms are expected in parts of South Africa from TODAY.
According to VoxWeather these heat-induced thunderstorms are expected in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumulanga.
“Only by Friday is the forecast picking up isolated t-storms possible over Gauteng; nothing significant and will only settle the dust in some areas.”
