A 20-year-old man from Springbok in the Northern Cape recently died on a US farm after suffocating in a soybean silo.

The company that owns the truck involved in the N3 crash will be held responsible should it be found that the vehicle had defects.

Meanwhile, the NSPCA has warned Pitbull owners about two new scams that are going on, including the impersonation of SPCA staff.

Warnings for severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, and disruptive rain were issued for WEDNESDAY. These areas will be affected.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) also issued an Orange Level 6 warning for rain in the Free State on Wednesday, 2 November. The warning key indicates that such a warning has a high likelihood of weather impacts.

Young South African man SUFFOCATED in soybean silo on US farm

A 20-year-old man from Springbok in the Northern Cape recently died on a US farm after suffocating in a soybean silo.

According to a report by Maroela MediaNantes Lennox had been working on the farm at Itta Bena near Jackson, Mississippi, since March.

He performed general farm work.

NSPCA warns locals about TWO new scams involving Pitbulls

There are two scams going around online regarding Pitbulls that the NSPCA has warned locals about.

The National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) stated that a post is circulating on Twitter offering a reward to people.

In the post, from an unverified government account, the poster says those who report the addresses of where pit bulls are kept will receive a reward of R1 500.

Thunderstorms, winds, and heavy rain expected on WEDNESDAY

Severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and disruptive rain warnings were issued for WEDNESDAY for several areas in South Africa.

The South Africa Weather Service (SAWS) issued Level 4 and 2 warnings for disruptive rain for these parts of the country.

Level 6 weather WARNING: Flooding, danger to life in Free State

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Orange Level 6 warning for rain in the Free State on Wednesday, 2 November. The warning key indicates that such a warning has a high likelihood of weather impacts.

The warning is valid from 8:00 until 23:59 on Wednesday. The weather service said continual rainfall has already saturated the ground in the Fezile Dabi and Thabo Mofutsanyana municipalities in the east.

An excessive flow of water could result in flash flooding of informal and formal settlements and poor driving conditions.

N3 crash: Truck driver arrested, company to be held responsible

The truck driver involved in the horrific crash that killed four people on the N3 just before Marianhill Toll Plaza in KwaZulu-Natal has been arrested.

The crash which involved multiple vehicles happened on Tuesday, 1 November 2022. 

As previously reported, Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst said when medics arrived on the scene they found one of the cars stuck underneath the trailer of a truck, sadly all four occupants which were female showed no signs of life and were declared deceased on the scene.
