Stage 15 load shedding: What is it and what could cause it?

Eskom CEO André de Ruyter was speaking at the Africa Renewables Investment Summit in Cape Town when he touched on the topic of Stage 15 load shedding.

De Ruyter says he doesn’t want to know what that looks like. MyBroadband reports that if SA does not aggressively invest in renewable energy and relaxes its air quality standards, we may actually see Stage 15 load shedding.

Eskom’s models reportedly show that Stage 15 might need to be implemented if the above is not done. De Ruyter says that if this level of load shedding is implemented, it would cost 100 000 jobs.

Hello darkness, my old friend: Stage 4 implemented INDEFINITELY

Eskom announced on the evening of Wednesday, 28 September, that Stage 4 load shedding would be implemented indefinitely.

The power utility says that delays in the supply of diesel are the reason behind this. In a thread shared on Twitter, Eskom said Stage 4 would be implemented throughout the night and continue until diesel stocks have been fully replenished.

Well-known veterinarian killed in HORRIFIC farm attack

A 72-year-old well-known veterinarian was found tied up, lying motionless in a pool of blood in a HORRIFIC farm attack near Delmas.

The attack happened in his house on a farm in Klipspruit Waaikraal (between Delmas / Bronkhorstspruit).

Police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the murder happened on Tuesday morning.

Elderly woman severely assaulted and raped in BRUTAL farm attack

A 65-year-old woman was severely assaulted, strangled, and raped in a BRUTAL farm attack near Klerksdorp.

According to the police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh, the brutal attack happened around 23:00 on Friday evening.

“The 65-year-old woman was sleeping, and she woke up, hearing a window break. A man pointed her with a firearm and demanded money.”
