Nedbank player bags R10m lotto jackpot

A man from Nelspruit, Mpumalanga hit the R10 million lotto jackpot on 28 January. He recently stepped forward to claim his winnings, according to national lottery operator Ithuba.

The lucky winner purchased the winning ticket, which is worth R10 996 254.50, via the Nedbank banking app. The man in his 40s said it was not his first time winning a lottery game jackpot. He previously won R84 000 in a Sportstake game.

Centurion man BRUTALLY beaten to death on smallholding

An elderly Centurion man was BRUTALLY beaten to death and his wife stabbed in their house on a smallholding in Mnandi.

The bloody body of 69-year-old Johan Muller was found facedown near his kitchen door. His 65-year-old wife, Kitty Muller, was found in her bedroom with her hands bound. She was stabbed and suffered severe damage to her lung and other organs.

Ramaphosa breaks his silence over Ruyter’s explosive allegations

President Cyril Ramaphosa said former Eskom CEO André de Ruyter should have trusted law enforcement agencies to investigate maleficence at the ailing power utility.

This comes after De Ruyter made startling revelations about alleged government interference at the power utility during a televised interview with eTV’s Annika Larsen on Tuesday, 21 February.

De Ruyter said he did not believe the government had the political will to end corruption within the power utility.

Gentle doctor BRUTALLY murdered in his Pretoria house

The BRUTAL murder of a beloved Pretoria doctor has sent shock waves through the city, with many describing him as one of the gentlest people they came to know.

The 60-year-old Dr. Jaco Putter was killed in his home in New Muckleneuk, according to his nephew Dr. Armand Koekemoer. He posted the news on his Facebook page.
