Gauteng Health confirms the return of Kempton Park Hospital
The Gauteng Health Department has confirmed that they would bring back the Kempton Park Hospital – but this time, they will be building a new one.
The Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko confirmed that the department was working on a new hospital. The department will be building a 300-bedded Kempton Park District Hospital.
This information was disclosed when the MEC responded to legislature questions about the old Kempton Park Hospital. The old hospital has been closed for more than two decades due to re-prioritisation and streamlining of services, said spokesperson Tshepo Shawa.

Gravesites have sunken into the ground due to the heavy rain at the weekend. This has left the Khutsong Cemetery and the Waterfall Cemetery with swallowed graves, littered with broken tombstones.
The heavy rains at the weekend have left the Khutsong Cemetery a landscape of sunken gravesites.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Merafong conducted an oversight inspection at the cemetery in Merafong City. This comes after residents alerted the party to the sinkhole formations, said DA Gauteng’s Merafong constituency head Ina Cilliers.

A young man is STILL missing on Wednesday after he left Morgenzon in Mpumalanga early on Sunday morning but never reached his destination in Groblersdal in Limpopo.
Willem Kruger (29) was last seen attending a bachelor’s party.
According to Sakkie Louwrens from Bushveld Crime Investigations, there was still no sign or clues on the whereabouts of Willem. He said a large-scale search is still currently ongoing around the Vaal River near the lodge.
Tragic: Cape Town make-up artist MURDERED on walk home
Tributes have flooded in for Suritha Alting, after the 28-year-old make-up artist was brutally murdered in cold blood this week. The resident of Richwood, Cape Town was fatally stabbed during her walk home from a nearby restaurant. No arrests have been made yet.
Alting had both a talent and a passion for her chosen profession. She was popular with her clients, and had earned rave reviews for her work. Tragically, her life has been cut short in the most harrowing circumstances imaginable. Police are now working to crack this concerning case.
Women4Change, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fighting Gender-Based Violence, confirmed that Suritha Alting was also robbed of her belongings during the attack. They are now calling for a swift course of justice, but so far, there’s little to report.
