The frustrating congestion in Pretoria CBD caused by taxis is finally coming to an end. The City of Tshwane has plans to clean up the messy traffic.
Driving through some of the main roads in the inner capital city can leave one highly frustrated. This is because of the congestion of taxis which stop mid-road to wait and load passengers.
But the cause is the influx of minibus taxis in the inner city. Another contributing factor is the unique physical, spatial road network and economic characteristics, MMC for Roads and Transport Dikeledi Selowa said.
Farm worker ejected and crushed by tractor in Tongaat
A farm worker was reportedly killed after he was ejected from a tractor and crushed under the rear wheel while travelling on an unpaved road off Walter Reid Road in Maidstone in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday afternoon.
According to private security, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), its members arrived on scene at approximately 16:49 and found Emergency Services in attendance.
Spokesperson Prem Balram said the body of the deceased was located under the rear tyre of a tractor and fire fighters lifted the tractor with the use of a pneumatic bag and removed him.
KZN floods: Premier seeks URGENT meeting with Auditor-General

Maluleke expressed that the ‘far too slow’ response to the floods indicated that the needs of those impacted by the extreme weather conditions failed to be met within the given time frame, reports SABC News.

An online booking system aimed at motor vehicle drivers has been implemented by the City of Cape Town (CoCT).
The system is designed to allow motorists the ability to set up a booking to either register or renew their motor vehicle licence as well as the ability to deal with account payments and queries.
The newly implemented online system gives customers a break from waiting in substantially long queues by allowing them to make a booking in advance.

This happened on Spring Day at The Milk Restaurant and Bar, a lifestyle and entertainment boutique located at the heart of Khayelitsha.
The boutique confirmed the bill on Sunday but did not want to provide more information.
