AKA murder: Here are FIVE things we know about the police investigation so far
One week after rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was gunned down in Durban, police have revealed that they are working on several leads in their investigation into his murder.
Here are five things we know about the SAPS investigation so far:
- Police on Friday said no arrests had been made at this stage.
- Many people, both in KZN and in Gauteng, have been interviewed by the police since the murder.
- Police have collected quite a number of videos from different CCTV cameras to review.
- Police have collected cellphones to analyse data.
- The suspects behind the murders might be known to the police.
Heartbreaking: Photo of AKA’s daughter Kairo at his grave
A photo of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes’ daughter Kairo at his grave on Saturday was shared on social media, and it is HEARTBREAKING.
The rapper was laid to rest on Saturday, 18 February, in the West Park Cemetry in Johannesburg.

The public and media were barred from attending the private funeral service of AKA.
No winner of Saturday’s Lotto jackpots: All the numbers and payouts
There were no winners of Saturday, 18 February’s Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 or Lotto Plus 2 jackpots.
The six Lotto numbers drawn were (in numerical order): 7, 9, 21, 25, 31, 50 and the bonus ball was 15.
The next Lotto draw will take place on Wednesday, 22 February 2023 with an expected jackpot of R7 million.
Police looking for missing German tourist
Pinelands police are actively seeking the public’s assistance in tracing 22-year-old Nick Frischke, a German tourist who arrived in South Africa on Monday, 6 February 2023.

According to reports, Nick had been staying at a local Air Bed and Breakfast in Pinelands, but on Tuesday, 14 February 2023, he left the premises on foot and has not been seen since.
VAAL DAM: Communities urged to move to higher ground
Communities members in settlements and towns along the banks of the Lower Vaal Dam and Lower Orange Rivers should consider evacuating to higher ground.
These communities should refer to municipal development plans, Local Authorities, and Disaster Management Agencies for locations of these flood lines.
This warning comes after 12 floodgates remained open at Vaal Dam on Sunday, 19 February 2023, due to heavy rain, and outflow at the Bloemhof Dam has been increased to 3 000 cubic meters per second.
