The Mpumalanga Department of Health said the patient lived in Phaphamang Section, Phake, in Dr JS Moroka. She was admitted to the Mmametlhake Hospital, which is near Hammanskraal, on 26 May, presenting with diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.

Load shedding severity will be reduced over the weekend, with various stages being implemented, and no power cuts are expected during the day on Sunday.

In a power alert on Thursday afternoon, power utility Eskom said Stage 6 power cuts would be implemented from 16:00 until 5:00 on Friday. Stage 4 will be implemented all day on Friday until 5:00 on Saturday, when Stage 2 will be in place until 16:00.
