Searches for ‘delete Twitter’ soar by 910% as Elon Musk buys social media platform

Analysis of Google search data has revealed that online searches for deleting Twitter in the United States exploded by a staggering 910% on Monday after confirmation Elon Musk had struck a deal to buy Twitter.

The sentiment was not limited to the USA only as analysis of worldwide searches suggested that users’ disappointment with the takeover was consistent around the world.

Total global search trends, including all countries, saw an increase of 698% in searches for “delete Twitter”.

WATCH: What?! Man tries to steal the top part of a streetlight

A video of a man sitting on TOP of a streetlight and trying to steal the top part has gone viral on social media. It seems criminals are going for anything and everything in South Africa. 

Three men were spotted stealing cables from a traffic light earlier this month. It is not clear when and where the incident happened but it is suspected to be in Johannesburg.

Police rescue kidnapped girl, 3 – syndicate demanded millions in ransom

A three-year-old girl was reunited with her family on Monday, 25 April after she was kidnapped for ransom last week. Four suspects – believed to be members of an organised crime syndicate – were arrested when they tried to pick up the ransom near East Gate Mall in Johannesburg.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Athlenda Mathe said the child was kidnapped on Thursday, 21 April.
