Goodness gracious, we’re going to feel this one. Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday morning are set to conspire for a ‘big freeze’, bringing temperatures of -7°C to parts of South Africa overnight. A majority of provinces will see mercury plummet later on.

Five people on board a SAPS aircraft were killed when it crashed near Rand Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

An up-and-coming South African actress has been found dead at her New York residence. Charlbi Dean, who had just starred in a major role alongside Woody Harrelson, has passed away – aged just 32.

And lastly, a stepfather in the East Rand has reportedly done the unthinkable after he allegedly locked himself and three children in a shack before setting it alight.

Look: SNOWFALL confirmed on TUESDAY in several parts of SA

SNOWFALL was confirmed in several areas of South Africa on TUESDAY morning. Here are the photos of the snow.

According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS) the snow started on Monday afternoon and will continue until Tuesday morning. Light snowfall is expected in the high-lying areas in parts of the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, as well as Lesotho from late on Monday afternoon.

SA set for temperatures of MINUS 7°C tonight: FIVE provinces face ‘big freeze’

Goodness gracious, we’re going to feel this one. Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday morning are set to conspire for a ‘big freeze’, bringing temperatures of -7°C to parts of South Africa overnight. A majority of provinces will see mercury plummet later on.

Sub-zero temperatures will be felt as early as 21:00 this evening. That’s according to forecasting experts Ventusky, whose data is already giving us the chills! Shortly after midnight, significantly cold temperatures will be felt in a number of rural spots.

Charlbi Dean: Top SA actress, 32, dies after ‘sudden illness’

An up-and-coming South African actress has been found dead at her New York residence. Charlbi Dean, who had just starred in a major role alongside Woody Harrelson, has passed away – aged just 32.

Celebrity news specialists TMZ report that a family member has disclosed how Dean had passed away ‘following an unexpected sudden illness’. The talented thespian had also worked as a model after being discovered in Melkbosstrand (Western Cape), the town of her birth.

Over the last decade or so, Charlbi Dean has made a number of fleeting appearances in American-produced shows, including Elementary. However, in the last few years, her profile on-screen grew even further.

BREAKING NEWS: Five KILLED after SAPS aircraft crashes near Rand Airport

Five people on board a SAPS aircraft were killed when it crashed near Rand Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

According to sources on the scene, another person was critically injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

“A SAPS Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 Turbo Porter crashed shortly after taking off from the Rand Airport on Tuesday afternoon.”

A stepfather in the East Rand has reportedly done the unthinkable after he allegedly locked himself and three children in a shack before setting it alight.

The incident happened in Ivory Park Ext 10 in the early hours of Monday morning, 29 August.

It is reported that the stepfather had a quarrel with the children’s mother earlier that evening (Sunday) before leaving the house to seek safety.
