During the mass funeral of the 21 people who died at the Enyobeni tavern, Minister of Police Bheki Cele said that although it is a day of peace, it does not mean that war will follow.

Cele said that parents are burying their children and that it should not be this way.

Cele is still topping the Twitter trends list thanks to his little outburst during a heated exchange at a community engagement in Gugulethu, Cape Town recently.

He lost his cool with Ian Cameron, a director of community safety at Action Society, after he strongly criticised the minister and his department for failing to adequately address crime in the country.

Meanwhile, tweeps have disputed claims that President Cyril Ramaphosa was dozing off during the funeral of the Enyobeni Tavern victims but was instead in “deep prayer”.

Ramaphosa was caught on camera with his eyes closed and head down during the proceedings, several times.

Julius Malema knows his way around a turntable, so perhaps a visit to Ibiza – the party capital of Europe – was always on the cards for the EFF leader. Juju has been seen knocking back the spirits and ‘rocking his jockeys’ during a trip to the Spanish island.

It seems like wifebeater Jaco Swart has gone into hiding after a group of men assaulted him.

In some unexpected news, the co-founder of the South African Satanic Church recently RESIGNED after Christians demonstrated unconditional love for him.

Speaking about his visit to Scenery Park following the news of the tragedy, Cele shared that community members were standing by in shock. The minister believes that police, tavern owners and community members need to work together to find the reason behind the incident.

“We need to stand together and fight for one cause, including the police, community and tavern owners because someone, somewhere must answer as to what brought us here in the first place, what actually happened,”
