More snow is expected! A level 1 snow warning was issued for THURSDAY in the Eastern Cape. The SA Weather Services (SAWS) said the first snowfall is expected to make landfall around midday on Thursday and continue until Friday.

Eskom has announced that stage 2 load shedding will be implemented for the entire day until Sunday.

South Africa is set to enter a new era of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the government preparing to drop all remaining restrictions. A number of small inconveniences remain as part of our laws, but the Health Ministry is ready to repeal them all – including the mask rules.

In other news, more people were attacked by the five vicious pit bulls in Sherwood, Gqeberha, on Friday afternoon. Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said notice had been issued for the dogs to be euthanized.

In some sad news, a beloved teenager, Raylan Theron (14), died after a car hit him and two friends in Melkbosstrand while walking on the sidewalk. A car ploughed into the three friends who were walking on the sidewalk in Melkbosstrand.

Snow expected to make landfall TOMORROW – snow warning issued

The first snow is expected! A level 1 snow warning was issued for TOMORROW in the Eastern Cape.

The SA Weather Services (SAWS) said the first snowfall is expected to make landfall around midday on Thursday and continue until Friday.

“The first cut-off low is expected to pass over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape, resulting in a chance of showers and thundershowers as it moves through.

“The upper-air system is expected to significantly drop to freezing levels, therefore resulting in a chance of snowfall over the north-eastern high ground.”

Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented for the entire day until Sunday

Eskom announced that Stage 2 load shedding would be implemented from 10:00 until midnight on Wednesday, 22 June, in a statement less than an hour before the power cuts are expected to start.

Four generating units broke down on Wednesday morning, according to the power supplier, which means the capacity constraints are worsened.

Stage 2 load shedding will be in place for even longer from Thursday – starting at 5:00 until midnight. It will remain that way until Sunday night.

A beloved teenager, Raylan Theron (14), died after a car hit him and two friends in Melkbosstrand while walking on the sidewalk.

A car ploughed into the three friends who were walking on the sidewalk in Melkbosstrand.The accident happened around 20:00 on Thursday evening.

Raylan Theron (14), Eduan Fourie (Grade 11), and Chris Tosen (Grade 11) are learners from Porterville High School in the Western Cape. Raylan died due to his injuries, while Eduan is currently being treated for serious injuries at Groote Schuur Hospital.

MORE people attacked by five VICIOUS pit bulls in Sherwood [Update]

More people were attacked by the five vicious pit bulls in Sherwood, Gqeberha, on Friday afternoon.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said notice had been issued for the dogs to be euthanized.

“Thus far, two cases have been opened against the owners of five pit bulls who allegedly attacked the two complainants in Montrose Avenue in Sherwood on the weekend. A third case may be opened once the police have made contact with the alleged victim.”

Naidu said Anti-Animal Cruelty and the municipality visited the owners in Caledon Street in Sherwood on Tuesday.
