Just in: Missing enduro motorcyclist found dead near race track

he body of the missing enduro motorcyclist Nick Klingelhoeffer, was found on Wednesday afternoon near the race track.

According to the police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, 37-year-old Nick was reported missing on Saturday, 11 June 2022.

Nkohli said a farm worker found Nick’s body.

“Police in Gonubie have opened an inquest docket following the recovery of the body of the missing biker Nicolas Klingekhoeffer (37),who was reported missing on Saturday, 11 June 2022.”

City of Joburg Emergency Services (EMS) is carrying out the search and rescue operation in Dlamini, Soweto.

No plans to remove Afrikaans from Taal Monument’s name – Mthethwa

Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa has confirmed that his department has no intention to remove Afrikaans from the Afrikaans Language Monument in Paarl, Western Cape.

The Democratic Alliance‘s (DA) Leon Schreiber submitted a written Parliamentary question to Mthethwa, seeking clarity on the matter, asking in part: “Whether his department is currently engaged in a process to remove Afrikaans from the Afrikaans Language Monument… if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, on what legal basis is he relying to remove Afrikaans from the Afrikaans Language Monument, given the fact that the entire purpose of the monument is to celebrate the diverse influences from Africa and across the globe that shaped the indigenous African language”
