BREAKING: DA suspends Renaldo Gouws over racist videos

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has suspended MP Renaldo Gouws with immediate effect after verifying the authenticity of the latest racist video from his past.

On Wednesday, 19 June, a clip – filmed in 2010 – emerged of the outspoken social media commentator saying the K-word and inciting violence against black people.

SAHRC takes Renaldo Gouws to court for racist remarks

Today, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will initiate proceedings at the Equality Court in Gqeberha against Renaldo Gouws, a Member of Parliament, over alleged racially inflammatory remarks in an online video.

The video, originally uploaded to YouTube in March 2010, shows Gouws making derogatory and violent statements about Black people.

WATCH: Julius Malema’s firearm discharge case continues

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is back at the East London Magistrate’s Court. Malema as he faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and three counts of contravening the Firearms Control Act.

Malema allegedly discharged a rifle at an EFF rally in 2018 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape.

Mahoai was named earlier this week. Among the MECs announced by newly-elected Limpopo premier and former Health MEC in the province, Dr Phophi Ramathuba.
