South Africa fails the math and science test, scores lowest in the world!

The World Economic Forum has given us the lowest score out of all 143 countries surveyed, Mzanzi fails the test miserably.

You’d think we’d be able to beat war-torn countries like Yemen and Nigeria, alas, we don’t even come close to those two. In fact, not only did the World Economic Forum score us the lowest mark in Maths and Science in their Global Information Technology Report 2015, they also ranked our entire education system as one of the poorest worldwide.

Now, while Angie Motshekga would love for us to think we’re getting better, that facts don’t lie and we are in fact slipping further and further into the sh*t.

That said, this report doesn’t actually assess the real quality of our math and science education, but rather takes the opinions of global business leaders and quantifies it. This doesn’t mean we’re any better off though, as big business is where we find FDI (foreign direct investment) opportunities and post-university employment.

Perception is everything and SA sure as sh*t ain’t inspiring faith in potential employers and investors globally.
