SKELETAL REMAINS FOUND IN EASTERN CAPE

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the skeletal remains were found by a group of children playing in the area at approximately 11:15.

“Police suspect that the person may have died about 6 months ago. Neatly packed wood was lying next to deceased,” said Naidu.

The police said the skeletal remains were covered by a yellow t-shirt, khaki pants and a brown belt. The deceased’s black and white Converse shoes were found lying next to him alongside two black beanies.

“He is about 1,6m in height,” said Naidu.

The police are calling on members of the public that can help the authorities identify the deceased through his clothing or know of anyone who went missing after going to collect wood to contact the Kabega Park SAPS station via Detective Warrant Officer Bertus Blom on 082-442-1017.
