More allegations around the Guptas’ involvement in government are surfacing every day and now it’s become the ANC’s headache too.

Jeff Redebe, ANC policy head, was rather mum about a report by the Sunday Times claiming that the Gupta family was influencing the appointment of cabinet ministers.

“My understanding is that about two weeks ago, the top six ANC officials met with the Gupta family and I assume that this might be reported at the upcoming national executive committee that starts on Friday, 18 March, to what transpired there,” Radebe told reporters at an ANC breakfast.

“So I wouldn’t want to venture as to what was discussed but I’m sure there will be a report… which is going to be discussed.”

According to another report, Jonas turned the offer down and, true to form, the Guptas deny everything.

Last year el presidente played a round of musical chairs with his cabinet and replaced mineral resources minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi with another ANC MP, Mosebenzi Zwane, who allegedly has ties to… you guessed it, the Guptas.

Ramatlhodi was then posted into the late Collins Chabane’s public service and administration portfolio.

According to the report, Zwane played a role in the Guptas’ Waterkloof landing saga and while he was the Free State’s agriculture MEC started a dairy project that allegedly also has ties to the Guptas.

It might be easier to report what the Guptas don’t allegedly have ties to, as the list might be a lot shorter.
