Malema and the EFF are preparing for the “mother of all” shutdowns planned for 20 March 2023.

Malema and his EFF members hope to bring South Africa to a standstill. He said the national shutdown is to get rid of President Cyril Ramaphosa and protest against the ongoing load shedding crisis and socio-economic conditions.

In the video, Malema says: “The same way the Christians are waiting for Jesus to come. We are not religious.”

“We can’t wait for Jesus to come,” Malema said to the cheers of his EFF audience.

“We are Jesus ourselves,” Malema said to the cheers of his EFF supporters.

The Eff has also warned business owners not to operate on the day of the looting to avoid looting.

“To avoid the looting, close down all your businesses; to avoid looting, close down all factories. To avoid looting, close down everything. Nothing will be operating on that day. We are avoiding the looting,” the EFF said.

Malema said they could not wait any longer. “We can’t wait for Jesus to come; we are Jesus,” Malema said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis said it would be business as usual in the City of Cape Town. Hill-Lewis said the city seeks an urgent interdict to prevent the EFF from disrupting the town on the day.
