The trial of the five men accused for the murder of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, will resume on Monday, 14 November at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

Third State witness, Tumelo Madlala is expected to continue with cross-examination.

Five men are on trial for the murder of the soccer star, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli. They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. All the five men pleaded not guilty.

The trial last sat at the High Court in Pretoria on 16 September 2022 and Madlala was on his second day of cross-examination by defence counsel for accused 1 – 4 Timothy Thobane. 

Meyiwa was shot on 26 October 2014 at the home of his then girlfriend and songstress Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus in an alleged armed robbery.

Two armed robbers allegedly entered the house and demanded cellphones. Tumelo Madlala pointed out accused 2 Bongani Ntanzi as one of the alleged intruders Meyiwa had pinned against the wall moments before he was shot dead.
