Do you want to know how to apply for the R350 SASSA Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant?

STEPS TO APPLY FOR THE SOCIAL RELIEF GRANT

The Social Relief Distress Grant from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is administered in terms of app-section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) and is implemented with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance.

The SRD Grant is meant for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Special Permit holders between 18 and 60 years old.

They must have insufficient means, do not receive social grants or are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.

APPLY FOR THE SASSA SOCIAL RELIEF GRANT

To apply for your SASSA SRD grant, visit the website – https://srd.sassa.gov.za.

The department says applicants will be considered for the SASSA R350 grant from the date they apply.

HERE IS HOW TO TRACK YOUR SASSA APPLICATION

Once you’ve submitted your application, you can track it on WhatsApp. This is one of the few platforms that SASSA has given applicants as an option to track the progress of their applications.

Applicants must confirm or provide the information below to enable SASSA to consider their social relief grant application.

  • Confirmation that they have read and accepted the clauses in the Declaration and Consent Documents
  • Personal Details
  • Mobile Number (cell phone number)
  • Employment Information and Lifestyle Sustainability Information
  • Banking Information

SASSA GRANT: FOLLOW THESE SIX EASY STEPS :

  • Add 082 046 8553 as a contact
  • Open your WhatsApp and refresh your contacts
  • Open a chat with the (082 046 8553) number you have saved
  • Send a message to the Number saying ‘status.’
  • Now you will be able to check the progress of your grant.
  • Once your chat has been received, you must provide your ID number and the cellphone number you used when applying for the SASSA Social Relief Grant.
