As we embark upon another new year, millions of South Africans receiving SASSA grants will be eager to know when their upcoming payment dates are. Luckily for them, the agency has planned the next three months in advance – with R350 grant recipients also catered for.
Earlier this week, we went over the available payment dates for January 2022. But SASSA has gone the extra mile, after recently publishing the same information for February and March – which will also serve as the last scheduled payouts of the R350 grant.
However, those receiving SRD support shouldn’t feel too apprehensive. It’s understood that the government is keen to extend the fund past March 2022, before eventually converting R350 grant payments into a Basic Income Grant.
We expect SASSA to update their 2022 calendar nearer the end of the financial year (before April), and when that happens, we will add those payment dates to the calendar we have posted here…

The first week of the month at the Post Office is reserved for elderly, child, and disability grant payments. Thereafter, social relief of distress (SRD) grant recipients can head down to collect their R350.
It’s worth noting that, once these funds are made available, they won’t have to be claimed straight away. All monies owed to each client will stay in their accounts, until an individual is ready to make a withdrawal. This remains the case for all four aforementioned grants.
