SAPS official injured in crash, KZN

South African Police Service (SAPS) official was injured after SAPS vehicle collided with a white Isuzu bakkie in KZN on Friday, 14 April.

South African Police Service (SAPS) official was injured following a collision on the R102 at the Canelands robots, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Friday, 14 April 2023.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), they arrived on the scene at 8:13 a.m.

PASSING MOTORIST CONTACTED RUSA

Rusa was contacted by a passing motorist.

When the Rusa officers arrived, they discovered a branded SAPS vehicle that had collided with a white Isuzu bakkie on the Vincent Dickenson Road and R102 robots.

They assisted a female officer who was a passenger in the vehicle.

THE OFFICER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES.

She was only slightly hurt.

The officer is said to be based at the Nsuze Police Station.

“Circumstances leading up to the collision has not been established at this stage,” said Rusa.

FOUR PEOPLE KILLED IN A CAR CRASH

In a separate incident, The South African reported that four people, including a 2-year-old child, were killed in a car crash on the N4 toll near Emalahleni in Mpumalanga.

The crash involved two cars and two light delivery vehicles. 

“It is believed that one of the sedans lost control, steered off its lane, and into the oncoming traffic before it crashed into one of the vehicles. This resulted in a secondary crash that involved three other vehicles,” says provincial community safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
