South Africa. Gauteng. Johannesburg. Metro and Johannesburg Police get new more sophisticated CCTV Cameras to catch and monitor criminals 24 hrs from their offices.

In a brazen case of daytime theft a mystery woman has made off with some of the SABC news team’s camera equipment directly from the State Capture inquiry.

The equipment in question was reportedly left unattended while the news team took a break and they returned to discover the theft.

The thief had her image captured by CCTV cameras both inside the building and outside where she was spotted getting into a taxi.

SABC Presidential Correspondent Mzwandile Mbeje revealed that the equipment was stolen in a brace of tweets earlier today.

SABC reporters are no strangers to being victims of crime. In 2015 Contributing editor Vuyo Mvoko ws mugged during a live broadcast outside Milpark hospital in Johannesburg.

The SABC and South African Police Service would appreciate further information regarding the unidentified woman featured in the CCTV footage.

The SABC are yet to issue any official statement on the matter.
