Before you read this RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 Rucap please note this piece contains heavy spoilers!

Episode 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 saw the much anticipated Snatch Game hit our screens with a surprising twist on the old format.

Producer’s freshened up the format by having the Queens compete in batches of four on a Snatch Game of Love, playing on the formats of both the Match Game and the Love Game gameshows.

The episode opens with Valentina lamenting having to send home her good friend Farrah Moan while Gia Gunn expresses remorse over her behaviour in episode 2.

Gia and Trinity the Tuck face off in the Werk Room over their choices of celebrity to impersonate. Both have chosen Caitlyn Jenner and the entire room gets involved in mediating the dispute. Gia eventually settles on her second choice, Cardi B’s nail tech Jenny Bui.

Maxi-Challenge: Snatch Game of Love

Guest judges Keiynan Lonsdale and Gus Kenworthy help out with the Maxi-Challenge.

Snatch Game of Love Scorecard:

Monet X Change as Whitney Houston – Monet comes out of the gate strong with an animated impersonation of the late great diva but fails to read the tone of the room and most of her jokes didn’t land.

Naomi Smalls as Wendy Williams – Another very strong display from Naomi who has been a top contestant in all three episodes so far. As the segment wore on Naomi appeared to be running out of jokes but she finished strong with a physical gag as she collapsed just as Wendy famously did on her talk show.

Trinity as Caitlyn Jenner – Trinity stole the show with her impersonation of the Olympian and reality TV star. Trinity delivered a study in comedic impersonation and improv management. She was gut-bustingly funny, timing her jokes to perfection and helping others out when they were floundering.

Valentina as Eartha Kitt – The impersonation element of her segment was on point but she wasn’t terribly funny. Her reference to Kitt’s performance in The Emperor’s New Groove was a highlight for me even if the judges didn’t get it.

Monique Heart as Tiffany Haddish – As an incredibly vague representation of Tiffany Haddish, Monique was entertaining and did well to avoid being sucked into the trainwreck that landed Gia in the bottom and infuriated Latrice Royale.

Manila Luzon as Barbra Streisand – Manila took her critique of playing it small last week to heart and came out with an over-the-top portrayal of gay icon Barbra Streisand complete with an enormous prostethic nose.

Gia Gunn as Jenny Bui – Gia failed to capture the essence of Jenny Bui and came across as both unfunny and unprofessional. It became clear that her second choice was never really an option for her which proved to be a critical oversight. Her display led to Latrice once again being exposed to buffoonery in a snatch game just as had happened in her season.

Latrice Royale as Della Reese – Latrice started out very well but succumbed to the irritating interruptions of Gia. After the challenge Latrice confronts Gia who says that she didn’t mean to derail anyone else’s performance.

Runway

The Runway theme is boots the house down and Manila and Trinity deliver stellar looks.

Manila delivers a sexy Tom of Finland inspired look while Trinity channeled Linda Evangelista.

Lip Sync for Your Legacy

Manila and Trinity are announced as the top two of the week and before deliberation can really start its clear who is more likely to go home.

Trinity says: “For me, there’s a clear person going home, and that’s Gia.”

Manila considers sending Valentina home and appears to be torn between playing it ruthless and eliminating Valentina or being ‘fair’ and eliminating Gia.

They lip sync to Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know and Manila steals the win out from underneath Trinity with a lesson in competitive lip syncing.

Winner: Manila Luzon

Manila chooses to eliminate Gia who leaves the farewell message : “Believe In You, And Only You! xoxo, Gia”
