The untimely passing of veteran journalist Eusebius McKaiser has been met with a shockwave, with political parties such as the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) conveying its thoughts.

The broadcast and print industry was dealt a heavy blow following the death of a veteran in the game.

McKaiser, 45, passed away today, Tuesday, 30 May after a suspected epileptic seizure.

The EFF among other political parties released statements to pay tribute to the fallen broadcaster, despite political differences.

EFF DESCRIBES THE FALLEN MEDIA GIANT

“McKaiser was not only a journalist, but he was an activist who believed in social justice and the rights of all human beings to be respected, particularly those of the most marginalised. His passing is a loss regardless of where one lies on the political spectrum,” the EFF stated.

“He has played an important role in the various media outlets he has been able to make a contribution to and this includes contributions to outlets such as New York Times, Business Day, Mail & Guardian, Sunday Times, Sunday Independent, The New Republic, Financial Mail and Destiny Man. As a Talk Show host, stations such as 702,” the party added.

ACTIONSA LEADER TOUCHED BY THE SUDDEN DEATH

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba also weighed in on this sudden loss.

“Eusebius’ death has shaken me to my core. Such a bright young man taken far too soon,” he said.

“He recently attended one of my breakfast sessions, and as usual, the debates were robust and intellectually stimulating, driving the group to examine issues from a fresh perspective. He was someone I knew would play a vital role in fixing this country,” Mashaba remembered McKaiser.
