Why sharing sex videos of the Reiger Park principal can land you in jail

It’s not rocket science

The Reiger Park principal is set to face criminal charges for filming sex acts on students whilst working in the Boksburg School. So please, make sure you aren’t following him into the cells, too.

It would seem obvious to the average person in South Africa. But as we know, this isn’t a country where common sense is all that common. Thanks to social media platforms, videos of the sexual assaults are still widely available to view.

Reiger Park videos spread across social media

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has made it as clear as day that being in possession of the videos – which contain footage of the headteacher having sex with his underage students – is a criminal offence:

“Anyone who is in possession of [the videos of the incidents] must immediately delete them. It is against the law, and this doesn’t assist the learners.”

Why sharing Reiger Park principal videos is illegal

By sharing these videos, you are effectively becoming a distributor of child pornography. The principal’s victims are under the legal age of consent. Any image depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor is classed as illegal material. Just because you aren’t the one who filmed it doesn’t mean you can share it.

This seems like such a strange thing to say. Because any right-minded person wouldn’t even consider doing this. But there are some other people who are viewing this incident as a chance to get retweets, and draw attention to themselves.

That ends now. You cannot justify your pathetic online presence by sharing a video of a lecherous pervert taking advantage of innocent young girls. We ask anyone who comes across this material to refrain from viewing it, and immediately report the footage to whatever social media site you find it on.
