It started out as a 59-person shortlist and the parliamentary committee whose responsibility it was to finalise the candidates have narrowed it down to just 14 candidates.
The committee is made up of MPs from the ANC, DA, EFF and a few other parties and was tasked with finding the next Public Protector, which is no small task as Thuli Madonsela has set the standard incredibly high.
The 14-person final list reads as follows:
Interviews will be held on August 11, where candidates will have the opportunity to impress the panel.
