R25m Lotto winner to keep money a secret, continue working and pay off debt
The winning ticket was purchased at a Pick n Pay store in Paarl, Cape Town. The retail worker intends to pay off debt and purchase property.

The winner of the R25 million LOTTO PLUS 1 jackpot drawn on Saturday, 21 January, has claimed the money and said he intends to tell nobody about his good fortune in the lottery.
R25m LOTTO WINNER TO PAY OFF DEBT AND KEEP WORKING
National Lottery Operator Ithuba said the winning ticket was purchased at a Pick n Pay store, in a statement on Thursday, 26 January. Earlier this week, the operator said the purchase was made in Paarl, Cape Town.
The R25 million winner opted for the manual number selection method. The man said he discovered he hit the jackpot via the internet and added that he “always had a feeling” he would strike lucky in the lottery someday.
“The winner who works in the retail sector, says that he will continue working and plans to pay off his debt and buy property. He has no plans to tell anyone that he has won the LOTTO PLUS 1 jackpot of over R25 million,” said Ithuba.
ONE OF THE 14 JANUARY DRAW WINNERS CLAIMS WINNINGS
In the same statement, Ithuba congratulated the winner of the R5 433 073.30 drawn on 14 January. Two players matched six numbers in that draw and walked away with an equal share of the jackpot.
One of the lucky winners, a helper from the Western Cape, said she told her daughter about becoming the one of year’s first LOTTO multimillionaires. The winning tickets were purchased in Sunningdale, Western Cape and Brits Mall, Rustenburg, Northern Cape.

“I was so excited when I found out that I won, I screamed,” said the winner. She intends to buy a bigger house.
