Powerball jackpot: Gauteng winner of R8 million says he wants his wife back

The winner of the PowerBall Plus jackpot has come forward to claim his winnings of R8 million and he wants nothing more than to get his wife back. According to the winner, she left him at the beginning of this year because he didn’t have enough money and boy, has that changed…

The winner is now R8 million richer from the draw that took place on Tuesday 10 August 2021. His ticket was purchased at Brazil Cafe in Pretoria North, Johannesburg and he spent a cool R22.50 on the winning ticket using the Quick Pick selection method. The winning numbers from this draw were 3, 12, 17, 37, 38, and the PowerBall was 17.

The PowerBall winner told Ithuba that he feels like he’s dreaming. 

“I can’t believe this is happening to me. I have no words to express my happiness, it has been such an emotionally draining year,” he said.

When asked what he would like to do next now that he’s R8 million richer, he said he would like to get his wife back and rebuild their life together.   

“My wife left me at the beginning of the year because I did not have enough money. I want my wife back so I can rebuild my life with her and our kids and have our dream home,” he said. 

He added that the rest of the winnings will go towards purchasing a brand new house for his parents, paying off all his debt and investing the rest of the winnings.  

The excited PowerBall winner also wants to get himself a new car. 

“I want to buy myself a brand new car and save a portion of my winnings to be able to give my children the opportunity to go to university one day.” 

FRIDAY’S DRAW ESTIMATED AT R45 MILLION
