PowerBall preview: R127 million on the line in Friday’s draws

The last PowerBall jackpot draws of October 2022 will be worth a combined R127 million on Friday night. The hefty sum comes after both draws have rolled over for weeks.

POWERBALL JACKPOTS HEAT UP

Both the jackpots on Friday night, 28 October, are guaranteed with the PowerBall jackpot standing at R70 million and the PB PLUS at R57 million.

Another lottery game – the traditional main Lotto draw – will also have a guaranteed jackpot of R50 million this weekend.

National Lottery operator, Ithuba, remarked that it was unusual to have a trio of guaranteed jackpots.

“This is a MEGA GUARANTEED jackpot weekend for us at Ithuba. We are excited to showcase these fantastic jackpots and anticipate South Africa’s next Multi-millionaire. It is very rare to have three Guaranteed Jackpots in one Weekend,” said Ithuba.

CEO Charmaine Mabuza also revealed that the winner of the R11 million jackpot in the Lotto Plus 2 draw on Wednesday hails from Boksburg.

“The winner is encouraged to come through to our Ithuba offices to process his or her winnings,” said Mabuza.

As previously reported, a Witbank businessman stepped forward and claimed his R28 million in winnings from a Lotto Plus 1 draw. The businessman said he plays lottery games once a month and he selects the same set of numbers every time. The most he has spent on a ticket is R250.
