The South African Police Service in Phola outside Ogies arrested two suspects for murder after they set a woman on fire.

POLICE ARRESTED TWO SUSPECTS FOR MURDER

The suspects, aged 30 and 67, allegedly set a woman on fire and burnt beyond recognition.

Police arrested the suspects on Thursday night at approximately 22.20 on 2 March 2023.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the suspects were arrested on a charge of murder after they set the woman on fire.

The two were nabbed following the murder of a burnt woman beyond recognition.

A team of detectives from Phola police station is still busy with efforts to establish the circumstances that led to the murder of the woman.

SUSPECTS WILL APPEAR IN COURT ON MURDER CHARGE

The two suspects will appear in court on Monday, 06 March 2023. They might face more changes following the investigation.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, welcomed the arrest and commended the team for a job well done.
