Plattekloof house raided, one arrested for possession of drugs

Detectives raided a house in Braambos Close, Plattekloof in Cape Town and confiscated drugs with a combined value of R1.3 million.

The police in the Western Cape said a single suspect was arrested at a residence in Plattekloof, Cape Town on Thursday, 21 November. The suspect was found in possession of drugs and equipment required to grow dagga.

PLATTEKLOOF HOME RAIDED

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut said members of the National Intervention Unit were assisted by Western Cape detectives in the raid on a house in an upmarket Cape Town suburb on Thursday.

The police team raided a house in Braambos Close, Plattekloof and arrested a suspect for being in possession of drugs.

“Equipment to cultivate dagga, 954 dagga trees and 321 mandrax tablets with a combined value of R1.3 million were confiscated,” said Traut.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 25 October.
