A family suffered a double blow following a freak accident at an intersection that left them covered in white paint

A freak accident involving a light motor vehicle that was carrying paint and a family left them splashed in white paint.

The freak accident believed to have taken place in Pinetown, Durban (KwaZulu-Natal) shocked many on social media after the photographs resurfaced online.

Although, the incident is about 10 years old, users online still couldn’t fathom how this incident took place.

WHAT CAUSED THE FREAK ACCIDENT

A close inspection of the photographs tells you that the blue light motor vehicle carrying paint collided with a light bakkie at an intersection.

But unfortunately, the manner in which the paint containers were loaded in the car caused them to burst open and splash all over the family.

Aftermath of the accident that left a family covered in paint.

It is unclear if any of the occupants in both vehicles involved were injured but judging by the pictures it seems the impact wasn’t as severe although both cars suffered damages.

Although sad, Facebook users poked fun at the incident.

JOKES ASIDE, REPORTS OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN KZN

On some serious news, a driver was left critical following an accident along the Karkloof Road in Howick KZN yesterday, Sunday, 17 July.

Midlands EMS Howick Advanced life support ambulances were dispatched to the Karkloof Road just outside of Howick.

Upon arrival, they found that a single occupant was entrapped in the vehicle and was in a critical condition, specialized equipment was used to extricate the patient.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities.
