It is suspected that the Fourways houdini had a run in with one of the mates at Montecasino Bird Garden, after he reportedly messed with his chicks.

According to adoptanimalkits.com peacocks, also known as peafowl, are medium sized birds most closely related to pheasants who are believed to have originated in Asia, but they now inhabit Africa and parts of Australia.

There are three main types of peacock, the Indian peacock, the African Congo peacock and the Green peacock. All three peacock species are known for the elaborately colored feathers and tales of male peacocks. Female peacocks are dull brown.

Emergency services, Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, the houdini decided that this was enough and he tried to see if the peahens were better on the other side of the road.

“Fortunately this chicken didn’t cross the road and was safely returned back to his beautiful home at the Montecasino Bird Garden,” he said.

The Fourways Houdini is always keen for a chat with some boets at the Montecasino Bird Garden, reportedly. People have been encouraged to pop down and say hi.
