Premier Panyaza Lesufi’s crime prevention project seems to be headed in the right direction after the Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens were filmed taking down suspected drug dealers in the province.
A video has gone viral showing the newly deployed crime fighters apprehending suspected drug dealers in the province.

“Gauteng’s new crime prevention wardens are making quick work of apprehending suspected drug dealers. Following the official launch of the crime prevention wardens programme this past weekend at Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Pretoria.”

Although it is early days, these wardens are seemingly proving their capabilities following the scrutiny about their fitness and ability to rise to the job.
“Let’s keep pushing! We know our task and it’s simple to keep Gauteng safe. First assignment well executed,” Premier Lesufi backed the wardens, now dubbed the Green Mambas.

It is reported that R450 million was spent on preparing the deployment of the 4000 Gauteng Crime Prevention wardens whom have been assigned to keep the streets of this province safe.

Lesufi unleashed these troops during a Pass Out parade on 29 April which saw the Premier declaring crime as enemy number one. These wardens were equipped with air and ground fleets to help them in eradicating crime in identified hotspots such as townships and hostels.
